Perhaps the height of Howlin' Wolf's career was a 1971 recording session in London with Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Ian Stewart, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts recording with him. Thus Howlin' Wolf completed a journey that brought him from a poor Mississippi Delta childhood, to the top of the blues scene and to the leading status of a lineup such as the London one.
